Are Tmobile txt messages to me counting against my monthly allowance?

I just signed up for a Tmobile prepaid plan and it seems that pretty much everything I do having to do with my account will result in a txt message received from Tmobile confirming it.

Are these txt messages counting against my monthly allowance or are they free messages from Tmobile?

Also if I need to call customer serice using 611 does THAT count against my allowance?

I actually got the answer myself from a Tmobile rep.
Apparently no txt message or calls from Tmobile count against monthly allotment.

So can someone answer a different question for me?

What happens to the money that I add beyond what's needed to keep the account alive? For example, I have the $3/month plan. If I add say $20 to that but don't use it, will it stay in my account and be used for the $3 per month until it's depleted, or does it disappear at some point?

I am not aware of any cellular provider charging you to send you a text message from their system. Messages from the carrier are merely administrative and have never been charged or deducted from a plan/package.

I have never heard of a carrier charging airtime to call 611.
Don't make me turn this car around.....

Well, the reason I asked is because I opened up a prepaid account this morning and within a few hours of only setting up my voicemail and getting a bunch of txt messages from Tmobile (no other use at all), $10 had disappeared from the money I put into the plan.

Turns out, telephone rep told me there was a glitch and reissued the money to my account.

It will be used until it is depleted.
