I can understand Apple, but Samsung? I’ve been working in this industry for years now. As a vendor, I have never paid MSRP for Samsung.

Every time I objected to Verizon placing such limitations on devices a customer had completely paid for in full, knee-jerk trolls accused me of defending those who are trying to rip off Verizon, or they accused me of being a thief.

Yes.... those who dare to act like they own something they bought are thieves and scoundrels!

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner. The complaint had no real legal merit and that's why it just never went anywhere.

I briefly worked for Cellular Sales (biggest Verizon retailer in the USA), and even they bought their phones at a discount. Samsung and Apple had the lowest margins, but they always bought them for less than MSRP. We would even see the device cost in RQ (Cellular Sales' retail management software). The carriers are 100% making money off of device sales. All of the carriers have similar volume deals when purchasing devices from manufacturers.
