I rely on this phone everyday for work, Google maps, a dozen or so texts.. and I am away from a charger for at least 6 hours a day.. the sole reason I love this phone? Battery life.. in the 8 or so months I've used it I've never had a situation where I'm stuck with a low battery.. but this phone is becoming outdated, it's running Android 7.0 and it can be a little sluggish sometimes, mainly when I start typing an address into Google maps.... The thing is I don't know of a phone under $200 that's running at least Android 8.0 that has this crazy battery life (4500 mAh)... I have an iPhone 6s that runs like an iPhone should but it can't touch the LG battery life.. any suggestions?

Root it & put Pie 9.0 on it. Go to XDA & see what's up.

Motorola recently released Android 9 (Pie) for this model. Just do check for updates when on WiFi. The Andoid Pie update seems to have a glitch, however. The "Hello Moto" start-up sound can't be silenced without some work-arounds.
