Any new T-Mobile new customer deals

My sister and brother in law want to switch from att to T-Mobile. They have iPhone 8 plus’. They want to switch because they see that I often have better coverage and faster speeds in a lot of places that they visit. They also wanted to add an iPad to their account. However, it doesn’t look like there are any “free” lines or promos to come over from another carrier. I told them that they would really need to get an iPhone XR or xs if they wanted to take advantage of the 600 spectrum. They didn’t want to have to buy new phones, though, without some promotion. The T-Mobile website is sparse with deals. Perhaps related to the whole merger thing.

The first thing is to know where they will be using the phones. If they're in a market where T-Mobile has band-12, then band-71 is not all that important. The other thing is to not trust T-Mobile's coverage maps but rather, look at 3rd-party maps like Sensorly, RootMetrics or CellMapper. Finally, the best advice is to get a throw-away T-Mobile-based prepaid SIM for a month and test it in their unlocked phone.

THey got one better...me. At their home and where my brother in law works, my coverage with T-Mobile is better. To future proof, they want a phone with Band 71. Eventually, the NYC area will have Band 71 deployed which will help.

    All good advice.

Let me add that since the new iPhones come out in a month, they can either wait and buy those, or buy todays current models at a discount when the new phones are available. Alternately, they can wait even a little longer for the approaching holidays and then there might be a promo for Black Friday, or Xmas.

So you can get 3 lines for the price of 2? Would that be $120.00 with taxes and fees included? I don't see that anywhere on the tmobile website?

The thread I posted does not say you have to specifically get the iPhone XR. You can get the XS, XS Max, or the XR. As T-Mobile will give you up to $749.99 in bill credits over 24 months if you buy 2 iPhones an add a line. If you don’t want to spend any money out of pocket on a 2nd iPhone than you’ll choose the iPhone XR and add a line. However, if you want the XS or XS Max than you’ll still get $749.99 in credit but you’ll just pay whatever difference is left over for the XS/XS Max.

Manners cost nothing, and also have the added benefit of making a man. You know, it is entirely possible to rise above others, without stooping to pushing them under, and putting them down.

I'm going back to T-Mobile probably later this week, and I will get a sort of new user deal: They will pay off my Verizon Pixel phones.

I'm not ready to step down to an iPhone yet, Apple has a long way to go.

Don’t know if I 100% agree with you on the iPhone. But you know I still love ya man. Nevertheless, welcome back to T-Mobile.

The Pixel is solid. Magenta is the force that binds.

Costco has a 2fer with $750 rebate until the 15th of the month for iPhone Xr. I'd say the monthly credits with the free line is still a pretty good deal though. Warehouse only.
