    Angry SMS Issue

    Hi,

I am having a hard time to send SMS. Incoming SMS are okay but SMS won't send most of the time. I have to switch it to VoWiFi and all SMS will work. Do you guys have the same issue? or just me?

    Daniel.

What phone make/model (there are multiple devices in your profile). Is this SMS issue new or has it happened in the past ? Is the phone unlocked or is it carrier branded ? Any recent changes to the device/applications ?
Don't make me turn this car around.....

SMS works fine on my OnePlus 6T that doesn't support VoLTE or WiFi calling.

I am using UMIDIGI A5 Pro now most of the time because I need VoWiFi to work. My home only have 1 bar or no bar cellphone signal.

I really unhappy with OnePlus 6. Many people complain to Oneplus to fix the VoWiFi

Most of the time, I have to switch to VoWiFi or 3G to get the SMS sending to work. If I get luck, sometime will work on 4G too

There’s your answer. You don’t have cellular signal, in your home!

Agreed, without a cellular signal, non-iPhones cannot send/rcv text (SMS) or picture messages (MMS) over wifi. Only 3rd party applications can allow that on non-iPhones.

Interesting.. I have an android device connected to Freedom and it works perfectly fine, both wifi calling and texting.. here is the good article while from Telus https://www.telus.com/en/bc/support/...ling-explained

Yes, that original stratement is incorrect and obvious Apple bias is showing.
Android devices absolutely can use wifi calling features for texting via wifi and can send via RCS over wifi. Whether specific devices and networks offer the support is a different topic, but a blanket 'cannot be done except with Apple' is incorrect. Freedom supports many Android devices for wifi calling and/or RCS.

Maybe turn it completely off for 10-15 minutes.
Turn it on for 5 minutes.
    Reboot, wait 5 minutes.
    Try sending SMS.
