forgot to mention that Pixel 4a is announced at USD $350

    https://store.google.com/us/product/pixel_4a_specs
    UMTS/HSPA+/HSDPA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
    CDMA EVDO Rev A: BC0/BC1/BC10
    LTE: Bands B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/14/17/18/20/25/26/28/29/30/38/39/40/41/66/71
    eSIM10

(fine print at bottom of page)
Pixel 4a works on major carrier networks. In the US, Pixel 4a is compatible with all GSM-based networks and CDMA-based networks. See your carrier for details.
actually ticks most of my must-have checkboxes (3.5mm, dualsim though its eSIM, AMOLED/OLED, enough storage or microSD, decently priced).

    only 1 front & 1 rear camera
just a smallish battery, but I've given up (will carry battery bank if I think i need it)

would take this over umdigi s5 pro ($250) or the ZTE Axon 10 pro ($350) due to better software/support

5G version of pixel 4a coming later this year (unknown if it's the same size/specs)

    Two questions:

    1. How critical NR 260/261 (mmWave) for T-Mobile 5G?
    2. Which camera better- A71 5G or S20+ (not Ultra)?

The tmo oneplus 7t is $400 at oneplus right now. Yes no 5g, but it's still a flagship phone from last year. 755+ soc, 8gb ram, 128gb storage, rootable. Can possibly be unlocked to work on other carriers.

    1) T-Mobile currently does not have much n260/n261 coverage. It may take a while before that happens.

    2) Samsung Galaxy S20+ belongs to Samsung flagship line, so of course its camera will be better than the midtier Galaxy A71 5G (Galaxy A series are all midtier devices).

    A71 has 64 mp camera, S20 (not Ultra) - 12 mp camera. That's why I am asking.

Higher MP does not necessarily means higher quality: camera quality depends on several factors so in this case the higher MP camera is actually inferior to the lower MP one.

2019-2020 List Of Universal, Unlocked Phones For AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint

Does anybody have a simple way to determine which of these Android smartphones will accept dual physical SIM cards?
(I know that the newer Apple iPhones will.)

Also, I am assuming that there isn't a 2020-2021 List Of Universal, Unlocked Phones For AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, yet, is there?

The OnePlus 6T/7/8 series are the only phones w/ physical DS, and certified for all US carriers. Pretty simple. OnePlus is due to announce the N10 5G (using SD 690) at ~USD$400(?) on Oct 26(?). That model may or may not have DS. Per rumor, a low-end (~USD$200) LTE-only N100 (using SD 460) will also be released at same time. BTW, the recently announced 8T is strictly sub-6 5G. >(I know that the newer Apple iPhones will.) iPhones don't have physical DS. >I am assuming that there isn't a 2020-2021 List Of Universal, Unlocked Phones For AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, yet, is there? It already exists. http://att.com/ecms/dam/att/consumer...TT-Network.pdf Most (all?) of these phones will also be compatible w/ VZW and T-Mo. 5G "universality" will also be simple for the near future. All factory-unlocked 5G phones will likely support sub-6 5G bands, ie low- and midbands, from all US carriers. VZW mmWave 5G bands will require VZW-branded phones and some flagships, eg all iPhone 12 models.
did find this list - https://www.androidauthority.com/bes...phones-529470/ just GOOGLE Android smartphones will accept dual physical SIM cards

Recent/current iPhones for the US have eSIM+physical SIM. Some recent (current?) Asian market iPhones have dual physical SIM.

I have read that these Asian market iPhones have all the bands/frequencies required for the US, but before anybody relies on this, please do your own research to verify.

2019-2020 List Of Universal, Unlocked Phones For AT&T, T-Mobile And Verizon

Thank you for the replies. My current Samsung Galaxy S9 is still working pretty well for me, but I am am approaching two years with it. I am considering a universal, unlocked smartphone that will work on Total Wireless (Verizon MVNO) and have 5G bands. My understanding is that Total Wireless doesn't currently support 5G bands, but should before the end of the year.

Perhaps I will look a bit closer at the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G.

Please consider Verizon 5G Galaxy A71 5G UW or other Verizon 5G compatible device offered by your compatible carrier."

So, now I am curious how many universal, unlocked phones there are that have 5G on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon right now?

In the Samsung line, I think it is the following:

    Galaxy S20 FE 5G

    Galaxy Note20 5G

    Galaxy S20 5G

    Galaxy S20+ 5G

    Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G

    Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G

    Galaxy Z Flip 5G

    Galaxy Z Fold2 5G
