GV not Compatible with Dual Sim Phones?

I'm using Google Voice on a dual sim Huawei p30 lite, on android pie. It shows the carrier number when I dial out even though GV is set to show my Google Voice number for calls started on the native dialer. If I toggle show gv number "Yes (all calls)" off and back on it will show my Google Voice number for my next outgoing call but then reverts to showing carrier number. I currently only have one sim in the phone but had the same issue with two sims.

I've read that GV is not compatible with dual sim phones but can't seem to find the reference right now. Anybody know if this is true? Thanks

I don't know about that, but I had nothing but problems trying to use GV on my P20 unless I used the GV app and used WiFi/Mobile data and I only had one SIM. Switched to a Pixel 3a and had zero issues. Looking at other issues I had with Huawei phones, I would suspect it's a Huawei issue more than a dual SIM issue.

No offense, but Huawei doesn't play with others.

I was able to use Google Voice and have it show my GV number on both a xiaomi Mi Mix 2s and Mi Mix 3 with no issues. Like the previous poster said, this seems like it may be a Huawei problem.

So it looks like the issue is not dual sim but that GV is not compatible with Huawei. Bummer, because otherwise a very nice phone for the money. I'm wondering if it might be another app installed that is mucking up instead of the underlying software. Anyway, thanks for the responses.
