    They aren’t shutting it down right now. What they are doing is reducing the amount of ‘carriers’ and network elements assigned to UMTS.

    They’re still leaving at least one 5MHz carrier which is good enough to support the few 3G only devices, M2M, and roamers on the network....

    PRL updates are no longer required for LTE/VOLTE devices. It is not recommended on those devices as it will likely fry the SIM card.

    Sprint still uses them for some reason, both Profile & PRL updates. They’re usually auto pushed but they sometimes fail on Sprint phones requiring a manual update.

    My iPhone 6 just started showing Extended LTE instead of Extended 3G (verizon) where I live.

    Seems to be throttled at 512kbps/512kbps. I don't know if it's on AT&T or T-mobile because the band is showing "2" and all 3 other carriers use band 2...
    Personal: Sprint Apple iPhone 6s (A1688) on Sprint Post Paid SERO Premium SWAC Plus running iOS 13.2.3 with Sprint 39.0 and PRL 55071 and modem firmware 7.11.01 and SIM card version 63.09a

    Update: As of around December 1st my phone makes voice calls over AT&T instead of Verizon in this extended area.
