Broken Charging Port TracFone Samsung Core Prime

I have a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime with Triple Minutes on Tracfone. Obviously I don't want to lose the TMFL feature, so what options do I have to keep TMFL? From my understanding it's very difficult to fix a charging port in a home setting and cellphone repair shops charge at least $80. If you position the phone right it will charge, but after 10 minutes playing with it. Tried three different chargers and cables so it's definitely the port.

Some options suggested is getting a dummy phone (or battery wall charger) to charge the battery and swapping the battery daily. This will get the job done, but not very ideal.

Another option is getting another phone such as ATT/TMobile and transfer to a TMFL sim. This option is a last resort as it would be a little costly.

Is it possible to buy another TracFone Core Prime phone (pretty cheap phone) and just swap the SIM?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

The battery is removable so just buy an external battery charger.

Maybe. Depends on the phone, your skill level, and interest in doing it.

    Would work fine.

Only issue would be time towards unlocking, but if you aren't worried about that no issues.

Not worth spending fix-it money on this older phone.

The Tracfone website has plenty of good deals. Some of the deals will probably work with ATT/TMobile BYOP SIMs.

There also might be coupon codes available.

What model number is your Galaxy Core Prime? The Tracfone version is S820L and runs on Verizon.
I have one in fairly good condition, factory data reset, w/TMFL SIM.

If it runs on Verizon towers, it sounds like it might not be worth it since that phone seems to not have VoLTE too. It is up to you tho.

The Galaxy Core Prime is not VoLTE capable. Resurrecting one would just buy some time before CDMA quits at end of 2020. Users should just abandon these old devices and get current stuff, which are cheap these days.
