    TF, dumbphone & $50 a year service ?

I have been using TF since 2005.

Using a dumbphone, triple minutes Samsung S390g since 2012

I VERY rarely use this phone and I have more minutes than I will ever need.

Plus: I plan to move abroad in 1 to 3 years, so I have no reason to "invest" in this phone.

For several years now, I have been purchasing the $50 / 1 year of service

Anybody knows if this is still available & if the "purchase a $10 card / remove card from basket" still works ?

Is this $50 my best SAFE bet ?

My current service expires 27 November: should I wait for something lower ?

    Thanks in advance.

[only ATT works where we are - and badly at that]

As far as I know, this is the best safe bet. No involvement with the "minutes" or the SIM.

The next cheapest would be $40 for BYOP, but it involves the "minutes" and the SIM.

The $40 deal would not work with a Samsung S390g anyway. Those use a special SIM just for basic phones that a CSR has to issue.

It still worked for me two weeks ago.

The above is safe and easy.

There is a new deal from TF for 1 year and something like 1000 units for $50. You have to go through transferring to a new SIM to use it. I wouldn't bother if I already had more minutes than I need.

    Details at:

Don't know if it would work with a S390g

Doubt there will be any better deals on service days coming up, so add it whenever.

The $40/50 Tracfone e-Bay store exclusive deal is Smartphone only airtime. It should not work with your non-smartphone.
Your phone should not accept the $40 pre-loaded airtime SIM selection, nor the $50 separate Smartphone only airtime card + SIM kit selection.

Here is what is being discussed. The one listing contains both offers, depending on what you select.
