Issues with Iphone after downloading IOS 13

So I downloaded IOS 13 to my Iphone 6S Plus. Within the next day, I noticed issues with my phone & battery. I went two more days where my battery is draining really quickly. I contacted Apple Support through the app on my phone. The rep tells, me that I need a new battery BUT it could also be a hardware issue. I went into my local store & talked to the kid. I told him, "I find it interesting that my phone now magically has issues with it after downloading IOS 13" He said to me, updates can accentuate current hardware issues with your phone. I could tell, he was nervous when telling this.

I find this VERY suspicious. I have an appointment this evening with a "Genius" at Apple. If it's more than a battery I will NOT repair my phone. I have found a reputable seller on Ebay for IPhone 8 Plus. The 8 Plus is only 2 yrs old. My concern, is that Apple force me in another year to upgrade due to their updates that will fry my phone forcing me to purchase another! Has anyone heard of this before with Apple? If feels like they're just trying to force me to a new phone. (I'm also very tempted to purchase a cheap Samsung on Ebay. Until I'm ready to spend big $$$ on a new phone.)

There have been reports in the past that, after an OS upgrade, power usage is higher for awhile while the system is "optimized".

I would suggest checking the power usage by APPS in settings to see if some app is going crazy in usage. Maybe an app isn't handling the OS upgrade properly.
iPhone X is my current primary phone. I have older model iPhones and Moto phones available on other lines. Currently prepaid, though would consider postpaid on right plan.

So here's the verdict. The update fried my battery. I did end up paying $50 to replace the battery. I've heard from friends who have newer Iphones, the update also created an anomaly or anomalies. Not very happy with Apple right now.

I seem to have experienced this effect when I upgraded from iOS 13.2 beta 2 to beta 3. I though maybe cellular apps like Pandora were somehow killing the battery, but then after a few days the drain seemed to go back to normal on my 11 Pro Max. I use Pandora for several hours a day driving or with AirPods and usage became at least 4X normal after the update. Very strange.
