    Porting from landline (Numberbarn)

I have a number parked at Numberbarn which is considered a landline phone line. I want to use the number on a prepaid service.

I tried to use RedPocket but they would not allow me to port in a number from Numberbarn. It seems like they only allow porting from wireless numbers. I imagine many other prepaid services are the same.

Is there a cheap prepaid service which will allow porting in landline numbers?

I've ported from Numberbarn to Tello, but that does limit you to a Sprint compatible phone.

I don't remember hearing about a limitation like that with Red Pocket. What RP underlying carrier were you trying to port into?

I ported a landline # to PagePlus several years ago. I also ported a landline # to T-Mobile prepaid, also several years ago.

I have ported numbers from NumberBarn to both the T-Mobile and Sprint sides of Ting.

Porting to the T-Mobile side was not different than porting from a cellular carrier (right away).

Porting to the Sprint side took about five days (blame Sprint).

Before you give-up, check you number on the portability web portals of Ting and Tello.

    Good luck.
