Questions about switching from Verizon prepaid to Spectrum?

So I have been on Verizon prepaid for a few years now with the $40 plan with 3 gig. I always got the cheap refill cards on Ebay (for well under $30) but now the price has gone way up on them.(I paid $39 last month with tax) I am thinking about switching to Spectrum Mobile as I only use a few gig a month so I can get the 2 gig plan for $28 all in. I have a Galaxy S9 plus and the Spectrum website lists it as compatible.

Has anyone done this and how has it worked out? From what I can see, I will still get wifi calling and be able to make the phone a hotspot with Spectrum. Will I lose any phone features by going to Spectrum?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

    John

Idk but I think you'll lose your VZW online portal, VZW cloud backup & ability to transfer contacts/data through VZW software.

I do not use any of the Verizon items you mentioned so not a concern for me.

While I'm sure it is, the site also shows the Pixel 2XL in the Choose Your Device section then no mater which carrier you choose or even choose Other it says not compatible. So not a good sign about how the run things

As long as you stay under the 2GB limit I think you would be fine. If you go over, the next gig of data will increase your plan to $42 for the month. And given this is Spectrum, the price per GB may eventually go up.

The only other thing I could think of is roaming, they do allow it but the rates depend on where you are. As an example in Canada calls cost 10 cents a minute and data is 5 cents per MB.
