    BYOD on Xfinity question.

So Xfinity Mobile only appears to allow Samsung or Apple phones for BYOD, but then you can buy a phone from them which include LG, Samsung, Moto, etc. Can I just buy the cheapest phone from them while signing up and then throw the SIM in my wife's Moto G7? Which I believe to be compatible with Verizon LTE towers.

I have Comcast internet and don't plan on moving any time soon. I feel like ditching my wife's google Fi subscription would save us $20+ a month switching to xfinity.

Apologies if there's already an xfinity mobile FAQ somewhere on the site.

Yes. I did the same thing, dropped it into my Pixel 3a after signing up with a BYOD Iphone 6.

System still shows it as iPhone 6. Got my gift card for porting in as well.

It's Verizon towers correct? So you have to make sure your phone supports LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 13 correct?

How is the service? it's free until you use data correct?

That should work, but you may have to confirm APN settings are correct on the G7.

Their BOYD seems limited so that, if issues arise, they don't have to directly support as many "unlocked" devices. It's easier to support Apple and Samsung devices; Apple and Samsung tend to offer only one or very few variants of their flagship model.

Not anymore. New customers have to pay $12 for 1g data. Yes it's Verizon.

They sell the G7, so APN should not be an issue.

Bands on the one they sell.

They may not activate a non-Apple or Samsung phone, but so long as it can run on Verizon's network you should be able to pop the SIM in and be good to go. I did that with a Pixel 2 XL with no problems, but I'm guessing that since they now carry the Pixel 4 that it was relatively easy.
