    Pageplus Conditional Call Forwarding Problem

I had to do a factory reset on my phone yesterday. Afterwards, when trying to set conditional call forwarding to send to Google Voice (*715555555555), I get a message that says, "You are not authorized to use this service..."

So I tried a couple other things. *711. *92. Same message. I tried *71 to a different number (other than my GV number), and I got the same message.

I went to PP support chat and was told PP doesn't do CCF, but I cut and pasted from the PP website into the chat window the text that says PP does CCF. And I told the rep that I'd used it with GV for years, and my wife's phone still does. He apologized and said there's nothing he could do. He did check my phone and said the account and device seemed to be operating correctly.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'm using an LG G6 VS988 (Verizon) running Nougat.

    Thank you.

What's odd is that I don't think call Forwarding programing is phone dependant. For me, the call forwarding remained active after changing phones, doing factory reset, etc.... Yet the only thing you did was a factory reset.

I should have stated that sometime -- a month or so ago, maybe longer -- Verizon voicemail somehow took over my phone. Don't know how or why. But I was too busy to do anything about it. Prior to that, I was using GV. When I had to factory reset the phone, I thought it would be a good time to get back to GV.

My apologies for not stating that.

Do you have another Page Plus phone you can put that SIM card in? If so put it in that phone and activate call forwarding. Then put it back in your daily driver & CCF should work.

That's what I had to do with my Moto G6 Play. That phone not allow me to activate call forwarding. All I would get was an error code.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_f...#North_America indicates "Call forwarding, or call diversion, is a telephony feature of some telephone switching systems ... Call forwarding is often enabled by dialing *72 followed by the telephone number to which calls should be forwarded. ... Some carriers (including Verizon Wireless) use *71 for conditional forwarding although this is not standard."

With most, possibly all, carriers that use *71 and *72, *72 forwards all calls, and *71 only forwards calls that are not answered. So with *72, the dialed phone never rings, and with *71 the dialed phone rings until it times out, and then the call is sent to the forwarding number specified.

I set up my number to do this conditional call forward and it worked for me. Dialed my number and it rang for about 10 rings then it dialed my google voice number.

So atleast I can confirm that it works on Page Plus.

Just had this same thing happen while setting my wifes phone up to use google voice as her voicemail. You have to call customer service and have them turn on call forwarding on that line. I assume when you did the factory reset it changed it
and *71 will forward unanswered calls, *72 sends it straight to the other line.
