Best plans with international roaming (China and Philippines)

My mum will be going to the Philippines and mainland China and wants to know the best option would be for her for mobile data.... I was thinking about getting local sim in Philippines but looking at roaming options for most of those plans in Philippines only give 100-500mb roaming in china... What would be some good options for mobile data preferably unlimited but high amount of GB would also work going to use plan preferably in pocket wifi/hotspot.... Most Wifi in china require sms verification to connect so wifi in china is out of the question... a single one month plan would be enough for both places combined... Suggestions?

How about SkyRoam? They have cellular WiFi devices and service by unlimited daypass, per GB, or per month. Company has offices in San Francisco, Berlin and Shenzhen and can buy devices direct, eBay, amazon, or airport stores. With daypass system can let go dormant for months. Have older 3g+ model but they now have LTE models.

Not as far as I can tell so far, but you might want to keep an eye on https://forums.redflagdeals.com/aira...-only-2318850/ where the Airalo service has been discussed extensively.

The Airalo service and others to (hopefully) follow are why I really wish the Pixel 3a would go on sale for ≤ $200 this season.

But if not, $200 is the most I'm willing to pay for a phone right now, so I'll probably be out of luck.

Another option for Whitieiii's mom might be Red Pocket Global Data Jetsetter plan Plan for $15/30 days, but that plan would require a Sprint compatible phone.

That's too bad. Not having a universal factory unlocked phone limits possibilities.

Ok Philippines sim can be bough in Philippines but still need a sim for china.. I don't have a sprint phone and don't have esim... What's a good option for cheap roaming sim with lots of high speed data? Needed for 8 days minimum... Been checking around and a Thailand based sim gives me 6GB for 8 days for $20 usd but is there anything else? Doesn't have to be usa based provider as long as I can ship to usa and roams in China

Is data-only okay? Amazon sells HK China Unicom data-only SIM cards good for 30 days/6GB for less than $20.
https://www.amazon.com/Greatest-Chin.../dp/B00Z2IMAD0 . There are other versions with less data and less days for less. She'd have to use a VOIP service for voice calls and SMS. I have used the 8 day version of this card in China and it worked well with Google Voice, WeChat, and WhatsApp.

At which Chinese airport is she arriving? At PVG (Shanghai) it is super easy to get the local SIM. The desk is after immigration just before you go down the escalator to baggage claim.
