Networks are variable depending on location, spectrum, network utilization, equipment, and more.

    AT&T's commercial 4G network, with LAA-LTE.

Signal strength seems to partly depend on which LTE band is in use. Verizon has been mostly using B66 in my area for the last couple of years, and the signal has degraded. Once in a while I get B5 which is a bit better. Almost never see good 'ol B13, which might work better in this hilly forested area. It also does not help that short towers are mandated here.

Since I have switched to the Galaxy S10, I mostly see the B66 too. It's a 20MHz BW around here, so maybe they are trying to push the phones that are capable of that to that band, to free the congested B13. Maybe prepare for a future low band 5G?

What you’re seeing is likely MFBI B4, showing as B66. It’s actually AWS-1. Verizon began rolling this spectrum out in 2014, marketing it as “XLTE.” It’s not new spectrum, but they are still rolling it out.

In regards to 5G, it’s been widely reported that Verizon will use n5 for lower-frequency 5G-NR, like AT&T—at least in the beginning.

Verizon 4G LTE Speed Test Results: Round 2

I’m pleasantly surprised at this test inside a supermarket about 4/10 of a mile from the cell site. I rarely break 100 Mbps anywhere in Reno. However it is 7AM on a Sunday.

    B4 (15 MHz) + B66 (10) + B5 (5) + B2 (5)

I ain't complaining speeds are like this all over east los Angeles ca 90022 . I had an iphone 8 before and all over east LA I would get 50 mbps. Ever since I switched to the note 10 plus . Every single time in the same areas in east LA were the iPhone 8 would get 50mbps tops the note is getting more than 100 mbps .

New cell site went live today. I tested several times from all 3 sides of the tower. Ping times averaged around 60 ms - about double of other sites in the area. Hopefully they’re still tuning things.

Verizon is co-located on the bottom position below AT&T.

Good to see them building more density but that backhaul leaves a lot to be desired.
