LTE being slowed to a crawl makes me miss being able to manually switch to 3G EVDO.

Adding mid-band channels may not help much, depending on the distance. They pulled B66 off in my town, and now are only using the slow (but consistent) B5. Speed and coverage can be a trade off. Using higher frequency C-band could be even worse, and I don't think they will in marginal areas.

Well, I am a mile or so from the tower which is right in the center of town. Close enough to where I'm on B4 primary in doors most of the time. I used to get 30-50 down most weekends but has gone down hill the last 3 or 4 years. A vast majority of people here have Verizon so they definitely need more capacity.

Pigeon Forge, TN…Pretty rough around here. Capacity is needed big time with all the tourists out here! Also, right before midnight too!

Verizon 4G LTE Speed Test Results: Round 2

Not too long after finally getting B5 10x10, now it looks like they’ve added B2 15x15! Prior to this, they only had B66 10x10 and B13 10x10 and congestion was very common here. Glad they’re finally deploying more spectrum around here because they have by far the most customers of any carrier here and the least amount of spectrum deployed. Ogdensburg, NY

Other towers that have had Band 2 have only had 5x5 deployed, so I wonder if they have been widened? Also, no 5G Nationwide for hours, which of course doesn’t really make a difference anyways. Bring on the C-Band though! (in a couple years)

American Dream Mall. My fastest on lte. Could it be CBRS? Do they have a DAS? Name: Screenshot_20210816-171740_Speedtest.jpg

Anecdotally I’ve noticed that people most often find LAA indoors and CBRS outdoors, except in very densely populated outdoor areas where both can be found.

LAA only goes a few hundred feet, but it has higher capacity. CBRS goes up to a mile.

Correct. Which is why I believe C-band will travel 2-3 miles

Lockwood, NV - a small residential community along Interstate 80 east of Reno. Shown as 5G NW on the map, but I only get LTE.

Or a decent small cell. I've gotten 550/60 on 2+66.

I think this is my personal fastest LTE test without LAA or CBRS. Small cell in front of a cider mill, Rochester MI.
