It's fascinating that that scenario arises. My naive self would assume that if you could select B12 as PCC, but are close enough to still be able to use B2/B66/B30, that the network would hop you over to use B2/B66 as PCC and you'd end up doing something like B2+B12+B2+B2/66+B30. Especially since B2 and B66 are 15x15 or 20x20 in many areas.

I wonder if this B12 with 5xCA combo got turned on to augment 5G throughput, since n2/n5 won't be a PCC with NSA. Whenever I have 5G on, I always bond at least B12+n2. Getting B12+n2 and being able to CA another 3 bands would deliver some amazing throughput.

Sometimes the network seems to camp my phone on B12 PCC regardless of being close to a site. Weird, but it's not uncommon.

That is a lot of equipment on a tower. Can’t help you there. All I know is my own area is back to having problems again. There is still emergency permit work ongoing nearby so maybe that will clear up the issue here. I don’t know. Ir seems as though Mark the Spot was removed from Apple store but iI still report the issues on their hoping they may read it but it seems like the application is likely not supported anymore.

Every area looks so different. In the mid-Atlantic the 2nd from the bottom rack would be Verizon. Somewhat typical panel setup from a few years ago. In WV, VZ isn’t in many places so it may not be them.

The second from the top rack has really really old “shark fin” antennas. In my area only Verizon used them for cdma back in the day. Again, that’s not likely Verizon though. The large panel there is very typical of T-Mobile in my area. Again, likely not T-Mobile in your area. Maybe some older cellular carrier in your area that did 850 way back in the day but also does lte on low band. My guess is maybe US cellular?

The top rack is maybe AT&T? AT&T is likely the best in WV and AT&T panels vary wildly across the county. Of course it could be nTelos too which was eventually folded into sprint.

It’s so hard to say unless someone is familiar with the area. If there’s four carriers it’s likely everyone (VZ AT&T US nTelos/Sprint) but T-Mobile in your area.
    AT&T: 2003 (gophone) & 2008-2009 & 2013-Present
    Cingular: 2003-2006
    Sprint: 2006-2007 & 2009-2011
    Verizon Wireless: 2001-2003 & 2011-2013

I agree that every area is different. My connection seems to have gotten better today and I hope they fixed it for good. AT&T’s emergency permit work is done in the overnight hours.

Older equipment on towers will likely get replaced as time goes on due to upgrades and phase out of old technologies. It is a constant process. Each equipment piece at that tower site was likely added at different times and will likely look different in the future.

Yes. They had plans but put them on hold a while back. Curious as to why they aren't using CBRS vs LAA going forward. Definitely nice to see though.

QCI 9 vs FN (QCI 6). Haven’t been out yet to see if FN really makes a big difference. Uploads are almost always better on FN though. I guess that’s B14 being the PCC. Ping is a little higher, even on the same server.
