No issues with LAA, even though the wifi is crowded...

Am I correct to assume that the tablet only plan will work with 5G+? But that I need to activate a 5G+ tablet on the network which isn’t out yet. Samsung will have theirs out soon and I hope Apple will follow.

Plenty of bandwidth available for 5G in NYC now and I am assuming I can get a device with all the 5G bands and LTE bands when it isn’t available yet. AT&T should be finished with the Kew Gardens fiber optics project soon.

Wifi is super crowded in NYC. Some of the bands are common use bands by the carriers so there will be bandwidth available in those.

LinkNYC gigabit works fine in NYC on certain sites and only on the 5ghz band closeby. The 2.4 is so congested, its unusable signal. The common use spectrum should allow for faster 5G speeds and in theory should work well.

I have 2 bad coaxial providers available and 5G is definitely the superior delivery method along with a capable tablet for me which I can use all over.

I wouldn't assume anything. 5G+ is only available to business customers for the time being. 5G is available with Elite and extra plans.

There is no exclusion which says anything about not having 5G on the tablet plans. There is no 5G tablets available so there is no way to tell at this time.

At some point in time almost all users will be on 5G devices but the transition is just beginning. AT&T is aggressive on 5G and it looks like the Apple 5G devices may come out by 2021 although some 5G devices are out already and newer ones due out soon.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 6 wll have 5G in 2020 for a tablet and the new Galaxy S20 will have 5G models available for Pbones. Other brands and devices to follow.

More permit work is still ongoing by me in Forest Hills, NY/ Kew Gardens Hills/ Rego Park area till March. AT&T added another permit I missed which will be done in March in Forest Hills, AT&T is finishing up their permit in Kew Garden Hills. Crown Castle is doing extensive work in Rego Park section. One of the malls I forget which was getting an upgraded DAS system which should be coming soon, Also I see another AT&T permit for fiber optics across the other side of Queens Blvd in Elmhurst and there aren’t any big malls on that side. Looks to be finished in March like the other permits. Looks like this area’s wireless network is progressively getting better as lots of fiber optics is being deployed with more backhaul available per customer than ever before as fiber is close by to a nearby wireless 5G network. Probably more fiber work will go on over time but they have put a significant portion in areas that were definitely needed.

I haven’t had my unlimited tablet plan terminated nor do I abuse it and the plan is still being listed inside Cellular Data/Manage AT&T account and I will continue to use it as long as they renew it. Will find out as the next renewal is processed which I suspect it will.

If my plan did get terminated I would try to look for another AT&T or AT&T MVNO based plan preferably.

I'll find out in another month or so. Similarly - I pull about the same in my area on a T-Mobile device - using 3 bands at best... 20x20 B4, 10x10 B2 and sometimes 5x5 B12. I'll get a Samsung next month for work (maybe Note 10+ 5g).
