Maybe you accidentally made a typo.

They are VERY little numbers, and I needed two sets of glasses , but I checked and entered the number a dozen times.

I have a claim in, this just solidifies it.

This must be really hard on people who don't have a computer or an extra phone or even WiFi to deal with all this CS communication. With TF and also with eBay.

I think this is a major reason why people overpay for all kinds of things including cell phones and cable TV. With work and everything, no one has the time to take the chance they might lose service while looking for savings. But you can get really great deals. For example, those $15.00 service plans for $1.00. How can you beat that? And it definitely helps having two cell phones.

Tracfone or eBay refunded me, without requiring I return the Verizon "preloaded" SIM (they disabled it). I guess they are recognizing something was wrong at their end.

[Now, I wonder if Tracfone can correct the error about the empty or PINless VZW SIMs, and actually provide what they advertised? For my low usage, that plan would have been excellent!

I queried eBay Tracfone ... if they reply positively, I'll try to remember to update this thread.

When you take a picture of a SIM card, the numbers become this BIG.

The PIN/SIM has been voided and can be thrown away and not returned. Refund has been applied.

I was just thinking that my SIM was deactivated because I filed a claim. Based on what you quoted, that must be what has happened. If they see the SIM has been used, obviously no refund. It makes perfect sense. They should just email the code like Red Pocket does.

It is an excellent price, especially when you can top it off with a few $15 (For $1) plans to bump up the buckets.

Getting my refund was pretty darn painless.

I ordered (on 3/11) one of the "no drop down menu" SIMs thinking I would get the PIN card, as I had in the past. Shortly before it arrived (on 3/14), I started reading all of these "the deal has changed" posts.

Like others, I received a "Keep your own smartphone SIM kit" that is "compatible with most GSM smartphones." Not something I could use with the intended target, a Tracfone BYOD VZW device of a non cell literate friend whom I had gotten on TF several years ago.

I didn't want to jump through the hoops of seeing if the SIM was pre-loaded and trying to merge those buckets into his existing phone and service. I never even broke the seal on the SIM package. I simply initiated a return/refund, stated "wrong item sent." Today (3 days after I started the return/refund) I got my full refund. The apparent comment from TF was this: "The PIN/SIM has been voided and can be thrown away and not returned. Refund has been applied."

Too bad I couldn't get my friend the deal, But I was quickly made whole...

Yeah, something changed. I have read many people say they had to fight back and forth with TF on Ebay and TF CS, so they must realize that if they just refund everyone, there is no loss to them (except of course the wasteful shipping, their error) and much better customer satisfaction. I'm MUCH more likely to try again with a carrier specific brand for $40 Annual.

Yes. After receiving the refund, I queried eBay Tracfone if they fixed the problem. Will see if they reply, or change the listing yet again.
Yea, one would think providing a PIN would have been a better resolution, but I am definitely not complaining about the refund!

Like brg, last night around 8:30p I got an email each from PayPal and eBay with news of my refund for two of the $39.99 deals.

Whew! Glad that's over! But if I could nail that price for that plan amount to be used on a VZW-based TF account, I'll want it for my relatives' use, so I'll keep checking the forum here routinely. Bound to be a deal at some point.

I hope they get this worked out, I was going to buy one for my Dad to activate an old phone. He lives in a retirement home and they are on lockdown, can't visit him.

Nothing with Tracfone is certain, but

    • If the phone is unlocked GSM, and
    • If your dad can use AT&T, then

I think you have an excellent chance of using the current $39.99 ebay deal.
