Google Pixel 3 Volume Decrease in Google Maps and Slight Red Tinge

I received my new Google Pixel 3 just a few weeks ago. While using Google Maps and in a moving vehicle, the volume goes all the way down even if I manually try to increase/enable it. Is this bugged or is this suppose to be a feature?
Also I notice the screen has a slight tinge of red noticeable on the sides. Anyone else have these issues?

I have experienced some audio anomalies on my Pixel 3, but it's only after using my VoIP app, Groundwire. After using it for a call, the alert for messages goes to vibrate-only and the media channel for audio (which Google Maps uses for navigation) is forced to earpiece, and stays there until the phone is restarted. This behaviour started after running updates for both both system and 3rd party apps (which I only do manually). I don't know whether this is a Google defect or a Groundwire defect.

Have you run updates? Apparently there was a significant patch earlier this year. My issues seem to be resolved as well. I think.

I found out the cause of the volume going down. It was the phone holder in my car that was pressing on the volume down button

Yes updated to latest Android 10. I guess maybe I'm just not used to the screen, maybe they are using a different panel than on other phones.
