Regarding the thread, I really hope the decision comes soon so this thread can die a swift death. Some of these pro and anti posts in these thread give off some of the worst second hand cringe.
No matter what the outcome there will still be debate

What I predicted long ago. Sprint will downsize and sell off it's spectrum in areas that they no longer care to be in. Even in areas where they will stay they'll sell off some of that 2.5 GHz. If it's Verizon that gets it T-Mobile is screwed.

Nice article. Sort of sums up the obvious. I for one, don't really care if the merger goes through or not. I'd like to see T-Mobile end up with 20-40 MHz of high-band (e.g. 2.5 GHz). If it comes as a part of a merger, sale by Sprint or FCC auction, makes no difference.

well actually it does make a difference if one wants it deployed the soonest. A approve merger means immediately deployment. A spectrum sale has to get approved. Not to mention they might not be the one Sprint sells too. T- Mobile is not likely to get any CBRS being auctioned in June and that probably won't be deployable until the end of the year at the soonest anyway. The c-band auction won't happen until late this year. Auctions typically take at least a couple of months. Auction 103 is still going on and started Dec 10th. So really early 2021 before it ends then a few months before licenses are actually handed out, so maybe mid 2021 before deployment can commence. S that would be T-Mobile a year behind. Not to mention there are already tons of phones that can do 2.5 GHz in 4G and soon many for 5G. By mid 2021 there still won't be many phones that can do CBAND in either 4G or 5G. So really looking at mid 2023 before c-band makes difference. So yeah 3 years makes a HUGE difference

They liquidate at auction and become an MVNO. Use the proceeds to pay the secured creditors (them) back. As an MVNO all the money they are borrowing for network maintenance and fake build outs will stop. They could easily move to become a Tmobile MVNO with the phones most customers have now. The cdma phones will be shut off anyway and those customers aren't big spenders either.

At that point Softbank will have recovered all that is possible to be recovered from the sinking ship. They just sucked all the juice out of the orange and spit the rinds on the floor.

After some time the now independent MVNO becomes unable to repay unsecured creditors which have interest rates so high it may as well be called vig so they go bankrupt.
