    Two activation numbers

I am teaching my sister who is in Iowa how to port her old TF number to her new TF e5. Is there any preference on which activation number to use....IMEI or Sim?

If it's a TF-branded phone, the IMEI and SIM are paired in TF system, it'll recognize either number of the new phone. Provide the phone number of her current phone as the "transfer from".

Excellent. I am making a school with pics in a MS Word doc for her. She is an odd duck who is afraid of google so its a bit of a trick but it will work.

Can't you do it for her? Log into her account and plug in the numbers she gives you.

I agree. If she's afraid of Google, this transfer will be overwhelming.

A service transfer has nothing to do with Google. A Google account is optional, and can be set up before or after the transfer.

Let's not get Google account mixed up with Tracfone account.

I think the point with this is if a person has trouble with or is intimidated by the use of such a common thing as the most-used search engine out there, the TracFone experience is liable to not be a fun thing.

She is just odd. Oh, she is a young 55 and runs and keeps fit and is educated but she is a socialist who likes helping people, like undocumented immigrents. She is very sharp on things medical. I know quite a few people that seem to think that google is tracking us for purposes other than marketing. They also wont go to Walmart.

Like my wife, who has a PHD in Botany, she and her sister have absolutly no interest in technology. My wife has a flip phone. Drives me nuts as she spends 5 hours a day on her computer doing dog show work. I know a number of people who refuse to carry cell phones or even have them.

I could but I prefer to make schools so I can "make" them take care of their own issues. People who are afraid of google/Walmart/You name it who think there is someone out there who actually CARES what we are doing other than marketing have a touch of paranoia and a fear of big brotherism. They seem to have a smugness that THEY are not being tracked..... oh well.

I have seen that people who don't have/want technical skills are almost impossible to teach. You either fix the problem for them, or walk away saying you can't. This is with both woman and men.

Tell them if they're driving a car newer than 2010 they're being tracked. Let them all get bicycles.

If I thought it was possible & not uber hard I'd try to mask my every movement.

Jeez you even have to rip open your TVs even if they're not supposed to be smart TVs. And you have to have constant updated tech/spy knowledge to know.

I don't know even one person that is physically/mentally able to have a cell phone that doesn't have one, including people in their 80s and 90s.

I do know a person in her 40s that refuses to have a Facebook account.
