You have created a GPRS account for Cingular wireless on your T616.![]()
By going to: Connect -> WAP Options -> WAP profiles
You can select which method you like to use (CSD or GPRS). Then when you press the right side button (to launch your internet) it will automatically use the profile you have selected.
If you still have problems then it's most likely on Cingular's side. Even when I had the settings correct I still had to call Tech support and they had to change something on their end for me. Before calling tech support try changing your home page from Cingular to something else like:
Sony Ericsson
- IP Address: 192.036.140.080
- Home page: http://wap.sonyericsson.com
- User ID: (Leave Blank)
- Password: (Leave Blank)
Hope this helps everyone out.![]()

Does it depend on your coverage area? I don't know which to use. Thanks
I have been working on this for days, Cingular has been of NO HELP. I made the profiles in my data comm on my Sony Ericsson T637. I keep getting an error message GPRS parameters not available? I have the Internet Express package @$20/mo. I am trying to use my cell as a modem with my bluetooth adapter.
Has anyone been able to use their Cingular service as a modem for their laptop? I would like to be able to drive down the highway and be able to log online to check mail, etc.
I sure wish I could find an answer to my solution.
Am I going to have to pay BIG BUCKS to add YET another service to my plan? When I was sold this phone and service the representative said that I would be able to do this and sold me the plan that was supposed to work. I feel I have definately been misled here.
If you have been able to use your cell as a modem via bluetooth on a laptop. Please share with many any configurations you may have to get it to work.
Thanks in advance,
Netqueen
If the t610 is T-Mobile branded, the wap settings can't be changed unless the phone is flashed.
All the time. Have you installed the SE drivers found on the CD? I use media works and the wap.cingular APN.Originally posted by Netqueen

Just go to sonyericsson.com and go to support page for an auto setup of WAP. Here is the direct link:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?...s1_1&pid=10055
Click on WAP under "Phone setup" select provider and enter phone number. A SMS will be sent with the correct settings. This SMS will program the WAP settings.

Still won't work if the phone is T-Mo branded. It won't let you save the settings to the phone. Phone would need to be flashed.Originally posted by hojbjerg
