No HD Voice when calling T Mobile/Metro PCS cusotmers

Does anybody know if Verizon Wireless is going to allow inter carrier hd voice with T Mobile USA? Spectrum Mobile which uses Verizon Wireless has no problems using HD voice with Verizon and AT&T customers but T Mobile/Metro PCS is a no go.

They already have for a long while now. Had metro for a year and HD voice worked between Verizon and metro And vise versa.

Now I have T-Mobile and it still works the same way for me.

It is active in certain areas, isn't nationwide though. Don't ask me what areas because I couldn't tell ya, but there are people who have it. I'm in PA, no go here.

I suspect that the phone that places the call (on VZW side) needs to support EVS-SWB codec (HD Voice +), because that's what T-Mobile uses.

On Verizon's network both AMR-WB (HD Voice) and EVS-SWB (HD Voice +) are accepted, and some older phones support only HD Voice. On T-Mobile firmware, most of the older phones (like Galaxy S7) got the upgraded codec via firmware upgrade.

I have a Google Pixel 3a XL does anybody know what HD Voice codecs that phone supports? I would assume it is the Verizon variant since I purchased the phone directly thru Spectrum Mobile a Verizon MVNO.

My factory unlocked Note 10 using U1 firmware I only get AMR HD voice. I have to flash the T-Mobile firmware with bloat to get EVS

My unlocked S10 U1 gets both codecs (TotalWireless MVNO over VZW network though).

PS: To see the list of available codecs on the phone, you can use a free app like "codec info". Of course it's up to the network to actually use them.
PPS: My S10 received the OpenMAX (Open Media Acceleration), often shortened as " OMX " codecs.

I would like to say it's live here in Atlanta.

In on T-Mobile and when I call my friend who has Verizon it no longer sounds like trash.
