Cheap international Sim for the Bahamas with long expiration date?

I use keepGo for international data ($26/gig)
But it doesn't work in the Bahamas (or st Maarten). $never expires.

For domestic, I have mint mobile.
You can add $ (minimum $5 that never expires) to your roaming bucket. It works in Bahamas But data is $0.20/mb which is $200/gig!

I'm only here for a day twice a year.
    Any better options?

I don't know anything about this info, but check https://www.finder.com/best-prepaid-sim-card-bahamas to see if any of the info there is helpful.

    I see local SIMs
    BTC 500MB – BSD2.99
    and
    Aliv Freedom 4 Valid for 1 day 1GB 30 mins – BSD4

I'm not sure if there's any wat to get a free SIM card for either of those.

As far as I can see, BSD is approximately the same as USD.

Those seem like they would be cheaper for 1 days at a time usage compared to most travel SIMs. But that would probably depend on if SIM cards can be reused after initial usage and plan deactivation.

Truphone rates from the Bahamas to US.

Truphone has a very good reputation unlike Piranha. And despite what you read in the Terms & Conditions, the credit (apparently) never expires. Although it is recommended that you make or receive a call once or twice a year just to make sure.
My smartphone is a lot smarter than I am.

If fstuff thought $0.20/MB was a lot, fstuff might just pass out at Truphone's $4.50/MB!

How about a SkyRoam mifi hockey puck? Can be left dormant when not needed.

I use an older 3g+ model when visiting Canada, Bermuda or the Cayman islands using day passes.

They have newer LTE models and claim coverage in the Bahamas. They have frequent equipment sales and also occasional day pass sales around holidays. Or older models (unused or refurb) are sold inexpensively on Amazon and eBay.
