The yearly plans have been "beta" for a couple years. The beta label isn't related to Premium Voice.

The testing of Premium Voice appears to be on Unreal Mobile plans and the plan that people found on directed emails (trying to find that post with an email screenshot).

From the Unreal Mobile posts, one would need an Unreal Mobile SIM that starts with 8901410 in order to get Premium voice. The 8901170 SIMS are still app-only calling. I would expect the same with FreedomPop if/once it gets Premium voice.

Do you mean Unreal Mobile instead of Ultra Mobile?

Yep- and even then it's an introductory offer much like Mint Mobile's. Unreal wants $15/month for the first three months (paid in advance, + $10 for the SIM, for a total of $55) of the 3GB plan, then it's $25/month if you pay for 3 months at a time, or $15/month if you pay for a year up front.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of happening to FP. I want the 1GB/mo and 5GB/mo UT&T (VoIP) annual plans to remain UNCHANGED and still available at great sale prices like they are at Best Buy and Target.

@Boz, have you had to deal with any banks that refuse to use a GV # for verification? How do you handle that? I ran into one the other day - US Bank. Fortunately there's several real cell #'s here to use.

Never mind, you can get 1gb for $10 a month
They just don't advertise the plan on the website. You can get it from Best buy

I haven't had any dealings with US Bank.

Out of the 10 banks I do deal with, the only one I've had an issue using my GV # with is Chase Credit Card. Every time I request a verification code text, it just never comes. Fortunately, Chase provides the option to send verification codes by email, so I just use that. There was a brief time when it seemed like my GV # was working with Chase, but then the other day, it stopped working again.

For my Social Security online account, I had to get verified using a letter via USPS before I could use my GV # as my phone # for verification texts at each sign in.

For Uber, I had to contact support to have them manually verify and add my GV # so I could request rides with the app.

So far, I've been able to find work-arounds for the issues I've encountered using my GV #.

Isn't this still their VOIP service & not their Premium Cellular service?

Current SIM kits from other retail outlets will probably be the VoIP version. Easy way to tell is by the SIM card number: if it doesn't start with 8901410, it will be VoIP voice.

Except as a prepaid service, there's no guarantee the rate won't change.

When they first launched the premium voice service, the $10/1GB plan was in the website. Now it isn't.

So yeah, if you signed up with a Best Buy/Target SIM you'll still get the $10 plan (on VoIP) but for how long? I suspect that the eventual switch to the premium voice SIM will also include a switch to the higher priced premium voice plan...

I would be curious to know if anyone with an account currently can chime in. Because as long as you have the correct sim, it looks like you can get 1gb plan with premium voice for $10

You can get 5gb here and downgrade to 1gb whenever
