    Nice article. After listening to the various sound clips AT&T sounds overall best to me. Verizon sounds super crisp but a bit tinny.

    Too bad AT&T is allowing VoLTE on so few handsets. I got tired of waiting & switched to Verizon yesterday.

    I just did a test call with CAL7, using my wife's TF-branded LG Fiesta 2 on TF/T-mo and his newly-activated BYOP TF/T-Mo SIM. We had HD Voice on both ends, and Data was available during the call. This was the first time that I talked with another phone that has T-mo VoLTE, and the first time I saw the HD Voice indicator on the Fiesta 2.

    It was an interesting and enjoyable call because it turned out we're both private pilots, with similar life stories and geographic connections.

    An interesting HD indication TMO <-> TMO

    I now have two Tracfone/TMO phones: Samsung S8 and a Sony Xperia X Compact.

    If the S8 calls the Sony, the S8 shows the HD indicator on the Samsung. If the Sony calls the S8, no HD indicator on the Samsung. At no time do I ever see an HD indicator on the Sony.

    Call quality, to the best of my discernment, is excellent. The Sony can access LTE data while on the call, so I think it's VoLTE. The Sony phone app is proprietary to Sony and I suspect it doesn't show HD in any circumstance.

    I just don't understand how the S8 believes it is talking in HD if it initiates the call but not vice-versa.
