I tried a Visa gift card, but it rejected it. I had to use my credit card. I did uncheck the auto-recharge.

I signed up using a virtual Citibank card with a $1 limit. I unchecked the auto refill box. Mint seems to be a legit company, the auto refill option was clearly labeled and obvious (unlike a certain company which used teeny tiny light grey font for such opt-outs), so I don't expect any problems. I've wanted to try a T-mobile MVNO for some time now. I had a terrible experience with TMO many years ago so I'm curious to see if they've improved. My only wish is that they'd launched this a couple months ago; I would love to test out coverage at my parents' home in S. Carolina but I doubt I'll get down there within the 3 month trial period. But still, totally worth a shot.

Offer extended until midnight PST. Decided to go ahead and order since it's free, and it will be useful after my free Sprint plan ends in April. You can uncheck the auto refill, and you can use PayPal instead of a credit card.

I just now used a gift card Visa and it took it. Had like a $.52 balance on it. Also seems to be valid even after the Super Bowl is over.

I didn't think of that. I put a T-Mobile/tracfone sim in mine last year and it worked.
