    Google Play alternative?

Been using Android for awhile, now running a new(er) moto e5, OS 8.1. I'm trying to find an app source that actually seems to exist for the USER. Just about everything on Google Play seems to be crammed with ads & similar garbage, each app "trying to pull something" on one level or another, with the function you're seeking secondary at best. Looking for an app to view WORD docs (.doc, .docx), GP has THOUSANDS of them (only a slight exageration... ) each seemingly crappier/more invasive than the one before. And of course, no way to sort by rating, let alone "no ads". The only other site I'm aware of which offers android apps with info on ads, etc. is F-Droid, but while it has many apps, it is lacking many more, including a WORD app. Anyone know of a good Play alternative? Or a suggestion for a crap-free WORD doc reader?

Have you tried Microsoft Word? Seems to require only access to your local files. And no ads.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I installed M$ Word (https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....word&hl=en_US), but you can't seem to use it w/o "setting up an account," which I try to avoid whenever possible. I had an app on my older samsung which allowed doc access w/o any of that nonsense, but I can't remember what it was!

Just dl'd this https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ffice&hl=en_US Seems ok, didn't need to "log in." Haven't done anything but view a couple .doc's yet, so far so good, one thing I like is you can get rid of the bar at the top & just view the doc. No ADS so far!

That's the one I got (the link in my last message), seems to work great.
