    E911 Fees on Cricket

I saw Target had Cricket phone cards, spend $50. and get $5. off. After I checked out I noticed Target put on a .30 E911 Fee.
I thought all fees and taxes are included on Cricket

Does anyone know if this is correct. I'm in California and knowing this state they probably passed something saying that it has to be charged for.

I think it varies by state. I didn't pay any extra fees at Target in SC.

If you paid a monthly fee thru Cricket, the E911 fee is included in the monthly plan cost

If you bought a PREPAID CARD in-store, you pay the E911 fee, because retailers in most states are required by their state to collect the E911 fee thru any point of sale purchase. And in most states, you will pay sales tax on any prepaid card.

E911 Fee in TN is $1.16

I remember buying several gusto 2 phones from different stores at roughly the same time.

    1) Bestbuy - charged e911 fee
    2) walmart/target - did not charge any additional fees other than sales tax.

There's a clear inconsistency. Probably has to do with how the product is coded in their system.
