Will my taxes and fees increase?

I recently switched from the 15 GB (doubled to 30GB) Mobile Share Value Plan which costed $131.20 for 2 lines (with a 8% FAN discount) to the new Unlimited Elite plan for $130 for 2 lines (including $30 multi-line, $20 auto-pay, and $20 Signature discounts).

Looking at the prices, they look to be the same. However my biggest concern is an increase in taxes and fees. My old plan was $15 per line while the new one is about $35 per line. Will my taxes increase because of this? I am calculating a $6 increase and don’t think it’s worth it.

Also, my new plan doesn’t start until the next cycle. Is there a way for me to prevent it from going into effect and keep my old plan?

That question would best be answered by At&t customer service.

    What do you mean?

My old plan had discounts which decreased the line access fee to $15.

But it seems like discounts work differently on these new unlimited plans. They decrease the base cost (which is $100) rather than deceasing the line access fee.

So the total cost seem to be the same upfront, but I heard that taxes are based on the line access fee which is now increased in my case. So I’m just wondering if that is indeed how they work and will my taxes increase significantly and by how much.

The way it read is a statement of taxes to be collected.

Old plan was $15 [in taxes] per line while the new one is about $35 [in taxes] per line.

The $15 and $35 aren’t taxes. Those are the line access fees.

I heard that the taxes are BASED on a PERCENTAGE of the line access fee.

My current taxes for 2 lines total is $15.34 ($7.67 per line) and that is based on my current $15 per line access fee. The new plan will have a $35 per line access fee and the discounts are structured differently from my current plan and I don’t know whether the taxes will be about the same or more.
