Not sure what you mean by that. The listing, at least now, only says it's linked to the SIM card and that you get no airtime card with it.

It seems as if you have you buy airtime on top of it in order to activate it. So, I figured fine, an extra $15... not a big deal. I got the deal for $40, but they raised it to $50 right after.

Of course... now porting my number from Verizon postpaid to a Verizon Tracfone sim has probably failed, since it's stuck at Activation in Progress". I made sure all the account # and PIN I provided was right too.

I hope chat support can resolve it since I hate dealing with overseas CS. I do have the corp # in FL, which I had to use a long time ago when Tracfone deactivated my SIM card and put my phone # on hold for no good reason. CS said the number was taken and I couldn't have it back. Corp got it back.

You should NOT have to buy an extra $15. You CAN buy an extra $15 to add buckets. You SHOULD receive 1200min/1200texts/3GB data pre-loaded on your SIM. And since you are stuck at Activation In Progress, you may not see those buckets yet. You may have to chat or call. I don't think Activation in Progress is related to porting your number, but it could be.

When going through the activation/port in steps, it was forcing me to enter an airtime PIN or buy an airtime card. I couldn't continue with activation without doing one or the other. Maybe calling or chatting could have avoided it but oh well.

A few minutes after 9am (Central) this morning, the port kicked in finally. I guess it required a person to process, not just the automated system. The VZW SIM quit working and the Tracone one works now. I had to set up voicemail and made an extra test call.

My account still lists it under inactive and that says that activation is in progress, but I suspect that's to give me a chance to call Verizon and stop it in case I didn't actually authorize it. VZW sent me a text saying a transfer request is being processed and to call if I didn't request it. Maybe it'll be completed in another hour or two. Might even be a couple days? As long as I can get phone calls and texts, that's all that matters.

It looks like the SIM you got was not pre-loaded. I have seen this mostly happen with Verizon Carrier SIMs. You paid for the 1200/1200/3GB annual plan so you need to file a return with Ebay to get your money back. Either that, or Ebay/TF has to give you the 1200/1200/3GB.

EDIT: Because, an empty SIM is worth $1.00.

Ugh. Maybe they forgot to load it? That would SUCK! I mean, I can live without a phone for a week to get this sorted out but still, it's annoying.

EDIT: Can't check balance at all yet. Website can't show it, and texting "bal" to 611611 says my phone # isn't in their records. But, I can obviously call and text, so...

Look at it this way. If you file a claim on Ebay, Ebay will in most cases make you whole. You should not have to stop your service, just file a complaint that you did not receive what you paid for. If TF does not respond by the date that Ebay says they need to respond by, then ask Ebay to step in, and you should get a refund.

Yes, but then in that case I've already ported in to Tracfone and paid $18.xx with tax for a $15 "card" and I won't have the deal I actually wanted on top of that. I want the airtime and year of service more than I want a refund.

At least I have a month to try to sort this out with the $15 airtime I bought. I'm coming off of an $87.xx plan (w/ tax/fees) becaused I used to need tons of data, but now I don't for a while. So $18 wasn't a bad deal to help me get the year, I thought.

I got on chat support and they finished the activation. I only have the $15 amount of airtime (500/500/500MB) and 30 days.

The chat screwed up and quit updating, but I had it set to email me the transcript when finished.

"Kaye : The fraud specialist can only verify 500 minutes that you bought with the SIM card. Ebay is not an authorized reseller. The specialist advised you to contact ebay and ask for a compensation for the minutes that you have purchased through their website online."

Yeah, a generic useless response because they think "ebay" is the "reseller" when it's Tracfone corp selling through ebay. I'm in chat for a second time with a different name showing, this time "Pedro". They are saying "Unfortunately, I am unable to find the yearly service plan that should came with this SIM card."

Guess I have to nag the people running the ebay store to make things right. Typical Tracfone quality of service.

For other people's experiences and solutions, just click the following link and read pages 6 to 16. The link will take you to the first post on this latest offering at the reduced $39 price. Not sure what page the problems are first noticed after receiving their orders.

Very strange. They say on the listing that they respond to messages within 24 hours, but no reply to a message I sent even before I bought it. I guess that should have been a sign. I have sent 2 messages since I got it, no reply to them either. Hijacked account?

I'll give them a couple more days but if I don't hear by Friday, I'll open a case with ebay for "not as described". If I have to return the stinkin' SIM card, then I will abandon Tracfone entirely and port out, even with a loss on the 30 day plan. I'd rather lose part of the $18 than lose $44 on the "deal". I left Tracfone about 8-9 years ago on bad terms too after they terminated my SIM for no reason and more or less stole my phone number.

I might have to call corporate in Florida like I did way back then to make things right. Overseas phone CS insisted they couldn't do anything about getting my number back, but corp did it. I had to wait on a new SIM card though because Tracfone is so insane about singe use SIM cards. They also replaced my missing airtime, but that was back on a Tracfone branded basic phone where you could type in codes on the numpad, which is what I had to do. I ported out within a week or two after that and told myself I'd ever use em again. I lied to myself, because here we are.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by Tracfone incompetence.

Also, run things by us here first before you make a mistake due to a lack of full knowledge of how Tracfone operates.
We have a lot of experience on how things can go wrong.

Yeah, I should have but too late now. I tried asking the Tracfone account on ebay but got no response.

If you would have gotten a response from TF eBay, I would guess that the odds would have been less than 50/50 that the response would have been correct.
