Vz allowing cable cos to use vzw 5G why :(

Why are we letting the cable.cos use our 5g network why .

    https://www.telecompetitor.com/chart...ks-to-verizon/

Let the cable cos die , they(cable cos) not investing in 5g or their customers are not paying vzw high rates. Why the ... would we allow those customers on our 5g network

Comcast and Charter Communication's have a legal contract to have access to the Verizon Wireless network in exchange for their wireless spectrum. So my guess is Verizon is required under their contract to allow them to have access.

    Ooops. Comment deleted.

Perhaps Verizon is charging them an extra fee for 5G access.

They better I pay hundreds for quality vzw service . I dont pay $30 for POS cell phone from.the cable co. Or for cable co users to be on my network .

I want 5g (home) to get rid of cable broadband not for there customers to be sharing my bandwidth like cable broadband...

    I don’t think your understanding..

Charter and Comcast have a mobile side that resells Verizon services. Just like straight talk, totalwireless, and many others.

Has NOTHING to do with the cable companies internet side. Other than you have to have the cable cos internet to get the plans, which also have nothing to do with getting 5G.

So if a customer sings up for cable co wireless.. does that count as subscriber growth for vzw ?

I believe it counts as wireless growth for the cable co not vzw .

Meaning the customer has 2 products that are NOT verizon.

    1- cable broadband
    2- cable wireless

So at the end of the $ quarter its more $ to the cable co

It does count as customer growth for Verizon Wireless on their MVNO side.

Not to mention the cable companies do not have access to Verizon Postpaid features such as outgoing caller ID name and have a lower priority on their network at times of congestion. In addition Spectrum is planning on deploying CBRS spectrum to offload traffic off of the Verizon Wireless network.

What is outgoing caller ID? The person making the call knows who they are.

It is where it shows your name on outgoing calls instead of wireless caller which is only available to Postpaid Verizon Wireless subscribers.

IMHO, you are being incredibly selfish about this. A major reason for the ability for 5G access for home networks would be for those of us who suffer with pitiful download speeds under 10 Mbs with local wired cable. This should give more customers nation-wide better access to the internet, instead of the privileged. The truth is that as it stands now in my area, there is little to no chance of higher data connections if I had to rely on the cable company. This is primarily due to the cost of infrastructure (new cable lines and equipment) with the current technology. I don't think it would be fair to require me to pay 4-5 times as much for a faster connection. Yes, I would be willing to pay a slight increase for faster connections. I do realize that the cable companies have done a poor job over years in maintenance and upgrade of their systems while concentrating more on corporate profits.

Um bye? Verizon makes money off these customers (Comcast and Spectrum pay per GB for the mobile access, plus base for voice/data)

Do not be mad at a cable subscriber for being smarter using a Verizon reseller if it's cheaper for them, they still have lower priority access to the network than you do, so who cares?
    Verizon: Grandfathered UDP
T-Mobile: Magenta Amplified (airline employee plan)
