5mbps Hotspot Throttle For New Customers?

I was looking at trying out Visible. When I went to the web site I noticed that it says 5mbps hotspot limit.

Does anyone know if they dropped the unlimited hotspot speeds then?

Thats not too bad a restriction for unlimited. The regular Prepaid unlimited plan does not even allow hotspot.

Visible has always officially had a 5Mbs speed cap on hotspot data. Whether they enforce it at all times is up for debate. You can get around it completely by using a VPN.

I had read on Reddit that at one point Visible removed that verbiage about the 5mbps limit from their web site.

They've done work to website over time that probably resulted in the verbiage not being there for a little while. No employee from the reddit thread has ever stated the cap is gone. The limits seem to be phone and location dependent with people reporting being capped and uncapped so who knows. I can confirm no cap if you use VPN.

I apologize for my ignorance, but can you please briefly describe how you do this, and with what router? Thanks in advance!

The reason I asked you to PM me is not that I want to get anything from you. It's just that Howard Forums deleted a post of mine to join Visible Party pay. So let's keep it private.

I just use an Asus wireless bridge to tether the cellular connection from my phone to my Asus router. But I only do this if my FiOS internet goes out. So I typically only need to do it around once every two years.
