5G Mobile hotspot on S20 or LTE fallback default?

    Hi All,

Anyone tried the mobile hotspot on the S20 Ultra 5G who is in a 5G area to see if it defaults to LTE or stays on 5G while in hotspot mode? Also curious if PDAnet uses 5G or LTE as defualt. I did a search on the forums but nothing came up. That's pretty much it.

    Thanks.

5G Mobile hotspot on S20 or LTE fallback default?

Good question! Probably not enough 5G devices in the wild to get a good sampling just yet.

LAA is a similar question. Since most phone based mobile hotspot solutions use WiFi, is LAA similarly disabled?

On iPhones you cannot join a WiFi network when sharing your internet connection. Similarly on my mr1100 it won’t do LAA when the 5.8GHz WiFi SSID is enabled.

I vaguely recall that on my Galaxy S7 edge that WiFi was still available when sharing your internet connection (as a mobile hotspot). But it’s been several years since I checked.
