    AT&T Netgear Nighthawk Gen1 be Gen2..Big difference?

I have the gen1 nighthawk and purchased the Gen2 that has band 14 and I think band 46 via software update. Would both make a big difference in speed etc with Gen2? Thanks!

Even added band 14 and band 46, it does not add up any speed

Band 14 will help as long as it is part of the CA combos on the device. Band 46 is near useless on it unless you are somewhere with a small cell right outside your window.

I have a Gen1 mr1100. Best I ever got from it was ~110 Mbit/s DL with a visual line of site to the Macro.

I’ve seen scattered reports of up to ~200 Mbit/s DL by one user in TX.

But, for some unknown reason, these devices have never performed neatly as well in the USA as the AUS and EU devices do in their respective countries.

Either AT&T is limiting them or the FCC has castrated them, or both.

Still, it’s the best offering from T. Still have mine, and a Unite even after switching my other lines to VZW. I have two 8800L’s on VZW, but they’re hard throttled at 15GB despite being “unlimited”

I did hit +200Mbps at late hours. During the day, I would get 150Mbps. I live in MD and live next to the tower in a congested area.

I mean, it's possible; 4x4MIMO, 256-QAM, you'd need 30mhz of spectrum to hit 600mbps. 2x20mhz would do it; you'd have to be pretty near the site though.

Really? Was this LAA? How was your test client connected?

    USB, Ethernet, WiFi?

I have a Tmo hotspot line, perhaps I should try my m1 on it.

    What APN are you using?
