    cheapest basic phone for att (new or used)

    im on a budget and trying to find a dumb phone for my friend since she really wants one. as most of you may know it will have to be 3g as 2g is no longer supported for cell phone signal, atleast for att.

    The AT&T Smartflip might be a good choice. Is an advanced model of the Alcatel Flip series. $40 at Best Buy.

    Well, 3G's days are numbered at AT&T, too. I've been using a Nokia 3310 3G that I won at an auction. For a dumb phone I like it a lot. Feels great to use, good sound, classic Nokia interface (but color this time...). I got mine for $30 or so. But I'm going to have to do something about it before the end of the year because, as a phone, it may go "poof!" when sunset arrives on those 3G bands.
