    LTE Coverage Maps question

Maps is plural because T-Mobile has two maps that show LTE coverage. I'm getting some conflicting coverage information from the coverage maps on their website. They have a 5G coverage map that includes 4G LTE coverage and a dedicated 4G LTE coverage map. I'm trying to understand why the 5G map shows 4G LTE coverage in Waynesboro, MS and the dedicated 4G LTE map does not. I would assume 4G LTE coverage from TMO is the same regardless?

I'll suggest that you take T-Mobile's maps with a huge grain of salt. CellMapper.net shows that Waynesboro has a single, band-71, tower. So, it's likely to have both LTE and "5G", altho the "5G" is not going to be super fast. Your Pixel 4 XL has band-71 and can "see" T-Mobile's coverage in Waynesboro if you do a manual search.

    Check this map: https://maps.t-mobile.com/pcc.html?map=mvno-noroam-34l

It shows all the frequencies / bands. If you see 600 Mhz its B71 / N71 - not much faster than current LTE 70% of the time.

If it is only B71 in places like Waynesboro, you may have to select the 'Show how coverage can improve with 600MHz' under the Legend.
Note: Not all LTE phones have B71
    All T-Mobile 5G phones have B71
