The Moto G4 Play doesn't do VoLTE under Verizon or AT&T.

Yes it will activate on ATT as VoLTE is not required.

When you talk about red pocket, please specify which carrier you are going to use. You can have service through T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon or Sprint.

    Mint uses just T-Mobile.

As you can guess, T-Mobile on Red Pocket should perform exactly the same as Mint. But on Red pocket, you could get different/better coverage using any of the other 3 carriers on Red Pocket.

Other than that, price and amount of lte data could be different between red pocket and Mint. RP offers 5gig with unlimited throttled low speed data when used up. Mint I think their current offer is 12 gig of lte.

Mint is the same about data as Red Pocket, it is unlimited. They just reduce the data speed. From the Mint website "data speeds reduce after monthly allowance but data is unlimited."

AT&T Prepaid 2 GB Promo Plan
    UT&T&D, 2GB LTE
    $15/mo

    EDIT
Unfortunately, it looks like maybe this plan was only available for activation through 5/13/20.

I actually think mint works better than RP magenta even though they should be theoretically the same. The voicemail was integrated better with mint (kept getting false voicemail indicators with RP), and voice quality was better also. I can't explain why. I had services at different times, so hard to compare side by side.

I'm on Red Pocket GSMA. My phone is the Samsung S7 SM-G930VC (Xfinity). I had SM-G930U firmware on it and no Volte or Wifi Calling. I just flashed SM-G930A and Volte and WiFi calling both work! Hotspot works on both firmwares also.

I was under the impression that only At&t branded phones would work but it looks like if you can flash At&t firmware on your phone you have a good chance you'll get Volte and WiFi calling.

I was able to manually enable 14 and 17 successfully.
