    Freedompop deals

Any good deals on 12 month sim for Freedompop? The one I have now is going to expire in another month or so. I thought it was $39 which gave me 1gb of data per month. As I only use this in a tablet I'm only interested in data. Or is there a better deal from someone else? Needs to be ATT.

Just check Target.com and Bestbuy.com on Sundays when their new ads come out. Either one has occasional sales on the 1 year SIMs for $39.99 or occasionally even $34.99.

Worst case scenario, the regular price is $49.99 which is still only ~$4/month.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/freedom...kit/6187400.p? is $39.99 this week. As mentioned above, this can sometimes be $34.99 at either Best Buy or Target.

A Target employee told me they will match Best Buy's price, but I haven't bought one yet.

    No, it's hard-capped at 1GB.
The Unreal Mobile SIMs have fallback '2G'.

Target just had a sale on Unreal Mobile SIMs two weeks ago. (Same company as FreedomPop but this version has unlimited 2G data after your allotment is used up.)

I picked up a three month 1GB for $13.99 (reg. $19.99). Not a great deal vs. FreedomPop annual SIM unless you really need the unlimited 2G data, especially since the rate goes up to $10/month* if you keep it after the three prepaid months are used up. (AFAIK, there are no 12-month prepaid Unreal SIMs.)

*(At least according to the packaging. Unreal recently revamped their rate plans. Plans are more expensive now, but include more data. Whether they're still honoring the plan that comes with the prepaid SIMs after the credit expires, I don't know. I haven't used the SIM yet; it's going to be an emergency backup for a camping trip later this summer.)
