RedPocket - can't receive or send MMS

MMS on RedPocket (using VZ network) was working on my prior phone, a Galaxy S7. I moved the RP sim to a Galaxy S9 Plus and MMS does not work.

Tried with Textra and also with default messaging app. Tried sending very small image to the phone (<100kb). None of these work.

I'm guessing the problem is with APN? I have the APN set as directed over RP chat. Under Mobile Networks > Access Point Names, I have one entry:
    Red Pocket

If I go into edit this access point, the only fields I completed are:
    Name: Red Pocket
    APN: vzwinternet

All other fields are default. Including MMS proxy and MMS port, both of which are "not set".

Browsing web, playing youtube videos, fetching email, sending pics using chat apps, all work fine. Just an MMS issue. I wish everyone would stop using MMS and let this ancient craptech die already, but unfortunately many people still use it, so I need to use it.

Any suggestions on how to get MMS working?

    The only other settings you may need to modify are;

    MMSC-http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
    MCC-311
    MNC-480

Attached are my exact settings. If you plug these in and it still does not work, it might be something about the phone. All sorts of reported issues with Samsung phones and Verizon mvnos.

I have heard that lots of Samsung phones has a firmware issues. It is mainly the Samsung phones that could be an universal phone, but it has a different carrier firmware on it. I know it is happens lots of Tracfone based SIMs.

You have to switch the firmware to the unlocked verison at least.

Not sure how to do this myself since I have not see this myself. I have seen people get it fixed that way with a Tracfone based SIMs.

    Ugh. . . . . . Sorry to hear that.

Not sure if this matters, but does VoLTE work on phone calls?

Try your sim in a different phone. Something universal like a Motorola G7 or E5

Hmmm.... sorry to read about this, but you should go ahead and reach out to [email protected] so that the Red Pocket team can look further into this for you.

There is a well known issue with Galaxy 7 and above on Verizon mvnos. Might be solved with latest firmware and maybe not.

Other hfers have reported on it

I would say the latest unlocked firmware at least. That is how people have fixed this same issue with Tracfone with Samsung phones too.

Thanks, I contacted RP. Hopefully they will have something useful to say other than get on RP chat - because I've already done that and got nowhere - those chat reps are not aware this is a known issue.
