Pix Wireless shutting down Verizon Silver plans

    Got the dreaded e-mail today:

    Dear Pix Wireless User,

Unfortunately due to circumstances outside of our control we regret to inform you that on 9/20/20 Pix Silver service will be shutting down completely.
You will need to port your telephone number out or find an alternative provider prior to this date. If you wish to retain your telephone number you will need to port it out by 9/20/20 or it will be lost. Please reach out to us if you have any questions. It has been our pleasure serving your wireless needs.

    Best Wishes,

Redpocket offers unlimited talk/text/1gb data for $205/360 days. Comes out to ~$17/month.

I noticed that the Pix Wireless site is not accepting activations for Pix Yello (Sprint) or Indigo (T-Mobile) either, so I guess those are probably gone too. Pix Emerald (ATT) still seems to be available.

Why does it sound like Verizon is suddenly back to no longer being super friendly with stand alone MVNO's (yet now they run 2 prepaid brands themselves...)?

I don't need much data so other services are cheaper. Let me know when you come out with a $15 monthly unlimited individual red plan.

@rcxb, redpocket runs promos several times a year, especially during the holiday season. That $17 plan may very well be $15/month.

    UT&T+1GB / 30 Days

    $169.99 / 360 Days = $14.17 / 30 Days

Your choice of Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile.
