Questions about migrating from old Moto flip to new Alcatel MyFlip

My mom has an old Moto W315 flip phone that will become obsolete at the end of the year.
I bought her a new Alcatel MyFlip to replace it.
I do not have mom's phone but I have all the info ESN, phone number, balances, expiration date, etc., because I manage her phone on my account.
I am charging the new phone now and will make sure both phones are powered off before I go onto chat to do the swap.

My question is, the SIM was already installed in the MyFlip, do I need to remove it before I get PP Chat to do the swap?
I would rather leave it in, as it is tiny and I don’t want to lose or damage it.
I have the SIM card number and the IMEI number on the card that came with the phone, so I can’t see why I would need to take it out, but thought I would ask.

I am planning to do this over chat, so it will be easier to make sure the numbers are right, rather than saying them to someone and hoping they get them right.

I have written down my balances and expiration dates, in case they don’t show up correctly. Is there anything else I need to be on the lookout for?

She is on the pay go plan and will be staying on the pay go plan, as this is just an emergency phone for when she is out somewhere.

You can (and should) leave the SIM in the new phone.
