Verizon SIM from Moto E5 to Moto X4

Moto X4 originally had Tmo TF SIM and the plan will expire soon.
Bought $30 Moto E5 with TF 1500/1500/1500. Activated/transfered balance via chat and everything (call/txt/data) worked in E5.

Took out SIM from E5 and put it in X4. Reboot. Call/SMS are working but no data (changed network to CDMA). What to do?

    SOLVED by changing APN.

The X4 likely has a T-Mobile APN. Usually VZWINTERNET for Verizon service.

Did you set the APN in the X4 for TF? The wrong APN will keep data from working. If so, you are not the first one to forget setting the APN. I have done it.

It's best to leave the network type set to Global or LTE/CDMA.

    The APN should be: VZWINTERNET

It is possible that the SIM that came with a bundle phone is locked to the phone it came with. I don't know if they do that anymore. I thought I had heard that they don't.

TY. "VZWINTERNET" worked. It was "TRACFONE.VZWENTP" before.

Good easy fix! Motos are usually easy to set up. The X4 is very similar to my G5 Plus, with some additional features. The build quality on these models is very good for the price range.

Oreo 8.1.0 on my G5+. Had not thought much to change that, as it runs pretty well.
