    SIM Card Question

Can I take the SIM out of my working phone and put it in another unlocked AT&T compatible phone without issues or do I have to tell AT&T the IMEI number every time I change phones?

In the past, At&t users could move their SIM cards to compatible phones without notifying At&t. There wasn't any difficulty when I used them and worked for their customer service until about 2015. While I can't say for certain that has or has not changed, I would imagine it isn't a problem today. I am sure others will chime in about this. Prepaid/MVNO's are a "horse of another color".

You can move an AT&T SIM between compatible phones without notifying AT&T.

When I was on AT&T a couple of years ago, I activated the account with my LG Phoenix 2, then later swapped the SIM into an Alcatel Ideal. When I added funds at the AT&T store, the system had automatically registered the change.

I also SIM swap my H20 Wireless phones. I activated using an unlocked 3g ZTE z222 flip, then put the SIM into a newer locked AT&T Smartflip 4052R, no problem. The settings auto updated.

I just swapped SIMs on a couple MVNOs today. An ATT MVNO and a Verizon MVNO. The swap was between iPhones so there were no issues about account setups that may arise if swapping between iPhones and Android phones. Or phones that are/are not VoIP compatible.
iPhone 11 is my current primary phone. But I have more phones than lines. Back to only Prepaid with the changes in the economy.
