Volte and wifi calling issues with the new iPhone 12

Got the new iPhone 12 yesterday and VoLTE and wifi calling no longer working. Put my sim back into my old iPhone and everything works fine, swap back to the 12 and nothing working again. Anyone else having this issue ? Cricket support is useless as always .

It’s just the 128GB iPhone 12 and yes it’s unlocked straight from apple.

make sure that your iphone 12 has the latest ios update (14.1 or later) including carrier update. also some say that 5G won't work if you purchased the phone from someplace other than cricket. - https://community.cricketwireless.co...-p/9639/page/2

i just googled what the latest ios update was and changed it the ios version that was there before was from the cricket website.

Not fixed yet, they were supposed to send me a new SIM card a week ago and it’s still not here. Yes , I’m on the latest update.

Put your phone in flight mode. Turn on WIFI and make a call. If it works WIFI Calling works. If not no WiFi Calling.

While not on wifi make a phone call if it still says LTE in the status bar then volte is working if it switches to something else ie: 4g or 3g or something then it’s not working..

I am pretty sure that 4G = VOLTE on a modern iPhone with an updated iOS, definitely not with 3G. If VOLTE is not working it could be a internal phone setting needing to be corrected, a feature not enabled in the billing system, or a bad SIM. Best wishes.

I bought sim free iphone 12 from Apple app, delivered directly from factory in china. Everything works like normal including wifi calling, volte, hotspot and the 12 is faster and has better signal than XR that i just sold.
You gotta wait for Cricket carrier update or update your ios to 14.2. based on past experience with Cricket.
I m on Visible though not with Cricket.
