    Battery life while using 5g ?

    So you folks with 5g phones have you noticed any difference in battery life ?

    5G being a newer radio tech will use more battery, just as LTE did when it first came out. in 1-2yrs they'll get it all straightened out just in time for 6G to be released

    then on something like mmWave, it's so fragile the modem has to fight to keep the signal so it'll use a ton with it too.

    mmWave will (does?) probably actually use less net energy because of the “race to sleep” concept. Yes it uses more power per second, but it also finishes and goes back to a low power state much sooner.

    In theory.. yes but from what I’ve used so far that’s not what normally happens.

    My battery DRAINS on mmWave, even doing small tasks like streaming Spotify

    Wish there was a way to disable mmwave on Android. IPhone 12 has this option and it's more optimized.
