I take it If I put my BYOP tracfone Sim card out of my Moto Z2 force and in the Edge I won't get 5G, just 4G
Depends on the service. USMobile offers 5g on all their unlimited plans (which include VZW and TMO) which start at $12 a month (more like $15 or so with required taxes and fees). As you mentioned Cricket has it available only on their top plan, though while TracFone doesn't have it available at all.
I think T-Mobile offers 5G to its MVNOs, if a phone is capable of it. I put a TracFone-TMO SIM in my Samsung A71 5G. The icon shows 5G, and according to various network signal apps, it is using 5G.
I did one speedtest that showed 150 Mbps download. I didn't do more because I don't want to waste my data bucket.
What type of speeds did you get with non 5G T-Mobile? I seem to remember people claiming higher speeds all along with T-Mobile and Sprint?
